Meet Our CellMate: Dina Anderson

Dina Anderson, a Rhode Island native, was raised in a household characterized by a strong work ethic and immigrant roots—her father being Italian and her mother of Armenian and Portuguese descent. She began her employment journey at a young age and graduated from high school at 17.

After realizing traditional academia wasn’t the right fit, Dina sought direction from a family connection and scheduled a visit with a USAF recruiter. Expecting a hardcore, combat-oriented environment, Dina discovered the military offered vast opportunities for personal growth and independence, motivating her to enlist with determination.

During her military tenure as a vehicle operator, Dina supported Army truck companies in the Middle East during critical convoy operations, driven by a sense of duty to her peers. Volunteering for multiple deployments, she aimed to ease the burden on fellow service members with families.

After a new desire to explore a different role in the Air Force, she transitioned into recruiting, which brought on some unique challenges. However, Dina embraced the role, became a successful recruiter, and made it her career until her last day in the military.

Facing the unfamiliar transition into civilian life, Dina’s experience with her first position post-service underscored the importance of finding fulfilling work aligned with her skills and passions. Through networking, she landed a new role as an Employment Coordinator with a veteran resource agency, where she expanded her expertise.

Currently, as Recruiting Team Lead, Dina collaborates closely with the VP of Recruiting, overseeing training, process implementation, and talent development in hard-to-fill positions within manufacturing and government services.
Beyond recruitment, Dina offers invaluable insights into navigating career paths, setting realistic expectations, understanding the civilian job market, and connecting individuals to promising opportunities.

In Dina, the fusion of military discipline, resilience, and a passion for service drives her to empower others in their career journeys, making a meaningful impact on both individuals and organizations.
